5th Grade

Overview:

Students will compose opinion pieces that logically organize and link ideas, using well-supported reasons, persuasive language, and precise conventions to influence an audience effectively.

Driving Question:

¿To what extent does caring for the Earth and its living things enhance the quality of life in our community now and in the future, and how can we use evidence from texts, writing, and discussions to support our understanding?

Purpose of the Project:

Students will present their Public Service Announcement (PSA) concept, supporting evidence, and audience challenge to a panel of experts for feedback and evaluation. This presentation serves as the culminating unit grade and allows students to demonstrate mastery of research, persuasive writing, and presentation skills.
