14th ALTAMIRA MUSIC FEST 2024

Purpose and Description:

The Altamira Music Fest 2024 is a contest-type event organized by the Music Department of AIS in which a national call is made to schools of the COGNIA organization and schools in the Caribbean Region of the country for students who are in the process of rock band and solo singers from their institutions. All of them had to send their auditions that were analyzed by the team of teachers from the music department, who selected 24 singers and 10 rock bands that participated in the activities of the festival and in the grand finale. This year the contestants had their rehearsals and sound checks from two days prior to the festival and also received master classes from experienced teachers who taught them how to improve aspects of their body expression and staging.
During the final we could appreciate a lot of talent and vocal capacity in the singers and a great work of coordination and rhythmic and melodic ensemble in the Rock Bands that highlighted the level of our festival.

The Altamira won third place in the Pre-Juvenile Singers category with Thaliana Prada 8A and our Rock band composed of Felipe Cordoba 8A on drums; Isabella Soto 11B on piano; Alejandra Caballero 12A on bass; Samantha Torres 10A, Sebastian Riascos 10B and Santiago Miranda 12A on guitars and Sara Parra and Sofia Plata 10A, Isabella Iglesias 11B and Santiago Bravo 12A on vocals won second place. In addition to this Isabella Soto and Alejandra Caballero won the award for best pianist and best bass player of the festival respectively.
